Dr. Mary Newport was devastated after not being able to stop the Alzheimer’s from slowly taking hold of her life. Then, she found out about coconut oil and its amazing properties. Her story went viral and it also led to a bestseller.
This initiated an international movement, and a number of people with dementia, or relatives who have close ones afflicted with it started using it so as to help themselves or their close ones.
All the internet coverage brought a number of testimonial videos and reports. Sadly, conventional medicine did not acknowledge these reports, and they don’t recognize coconut oil as an actual treatment for Alzheimer’s.
Coconut Oil as an Alternative Treatment for Alzheimer’s
A study which was conducted in Spain also explains the reason for it. To be more precise, EU nations such as Spain are less restricted as regards to alternative materials. For example, there have been an extensive study on the medical uses of cannabis in Spain.
The above mentioned study involved patients with Alzheimer’s of different genders and ages, with or without diabetes. They studied the effect that coconut oil has on Alzheimer’s.
They gave 40 ml of coconut oil (2.7 tablespoons) a day to the intervention groups. According to experts, the recommended dosage is 3 or more tablespoons, depending on the severity of the disease.
There was a notable improvement in cognitive status, especially among women, severe patients and those without diabetes mellitus type 2.
The study was concluded and the researchers came to conclusion that coconut oil positively influences the cognitive level of Alzheimer’s patients, and the improvement depends on the degree of dementia, absence or presence of diabetes and sex.
Another study from 2013 supports these findings.
The Misconception of Low and No Fat Dieting
Clean saturated fats such as those present in coconut oil are critical for excellent brain health and its consumption is not related with obesity or heart disease, despite what many people believe.
Both the media and the conventional medicine accepted the Ancel Keys Seven Countries Studies, gave Crisco the approval to use coconut oil instead of butter and the very harmful hydrogenated processed oils.
It has been proven that semi-hydrogenated and hydrogenated oils cause autoimmune diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, obesity and heart disease. Also, consuming high fructose corn sugar, and refined carbohydrates increase the risk of heart problems and obesity.
Alzheimer’s and Pharmaceutical Failures
The Big Pharmaceutical has not succeeded in creating a drug for Alzheimer’s, so it is a condition which is rendered untreatable. However, the Pharmaceutical industry is keep making mistakes. A recent study has proven that people with high cholesterol can live up to 80 years, and despite knowing this fact, the Pharmaceutical industry still sells drugs which lower cholesterol thus causing a number of side effects and other problems.
Coconut Oil Can Prevent and Reverse Alzheimer’s
Our brain contains 25% of the total cholesterol, but only 2 % of the total mass of the body. Cholesterol is needed in the brain, in a function of an antioxidant, a functional component of the membranes, the neural network’s structural scaffold and an electrical insulator. Moreover, it is used for the synaptic delivery and wrapping of the neurotransmitters. Also, it plays a vital role in the functioning and formation of synapses in the brain.
There are medium chain triglycerides in the coconut oil, called MCTs. These are easily digested and turned into ketone bodies which are used as fuel.
Alzheimer’s is considered diabetes 3 because it is not able to process insulin. Ketone bodies are able to supply the cells of the brain with what is necessary for them, while boosting the circulation of blood in the brain.
Since the ketone bodies are easily digested, taking 3 or more tablespoons of coconut oil is recommended. The ketone bodies provide energy and the coconut oil cholesterol. To put it in a simple way, coconut oil improves the structure of the brain and boosts energy.
